Vacancy Announcement

Handicap International is an international NGO created in 1982 with headquarters in France. Through its projects and lobbying/advocacy work in more than 50 countries, Handicap International fights to restore the autonomy of persons in disabling situations.

Our organization is currently recruiting for the following positions:

Position  :  Secretary/Receptionist (1)
Major duties and responsibilities

SECRETARIAL

  • To carry out all the secretarial work in the Manila office and in the site offices
  • To type minutes of meetings
  • To be in charge of the library (record, filing and updating the catalogue)
  • To be in charge of filing documents (including archives) and to summarize CVs

COMMUNICATION

  • To ensure good communication between the Manila office and the site offices, and among HQ team members.
  • To make and answer telephone calls, transfer them or take written messages and forward them to the relevant persons
  • To be in charge of the e-mail connection, to update the contact addresses in the database, telephone list
  • To update the notice board, to do the backup of computers and documentation

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • To be responsible for storekeeping, office supplies management, to book plane tickets, hotels
  • To update the absences and leaves table for staff under instructions, to support logistics during seminar or workshop preparation

Qualification and skills (minimum requirements)

  • College diploma in Secretarial Science and Office Management
  • Fluent in speaking and writing English and Tagalog. Good knowledge of French is an advantage.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, Access, Internet and Email and other relevant software.
  • Minimum of three years experience in the secretarial field either in a private company or an NGO
  • Must be able to work independently, proactive

Duty station:Manila
Salary: As per the organizational salary scale
Terms of employment: Contract-based

Position:  Logistics Officer (1)

Major duties and responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for the logistics department at projects and capital levels. He/she will be under the direct supervision of the Program Administrator.
He/she has to show proven expertise in:

  • Reporting on strategic logistics issues
  • Supply chain (process on supply/suppliers, stocks, freight and equipment management)
  • Mechanics
  • Maintenance of technical equipment
  • Implementation and monitoring of internal security rules

Qualification and skills (minimum requirements)

  • Diploma in Purchase and Supply Management (or related diploma) or Diploma in Civil Engineering

Other requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar position
  • Fluent English written and spoken
  • Motivation to work within a team in an INGO (former experience is an advantage)

Duty station:He/she will be based in Manila with frequent travels to the field (Davao, Cagayan, Cotabato, Hilwai) for coordination purposes.
Salary:As per the organizational salary scale; depending on experience and qualifications.
